RECENTRE · ELLESMERE PORT

Rest well. Live well.

Day respite for people living with dementia symptoms, so you can take time for yourself while they enjoy a day full of purpose. RECENTRE is a purpose-designed centre in Ellesmere Port where people move well, think well, connect well and live well.

More than a day service

We believe people benefit from opportunities, experiences and meaningful engagement, rather than simply having somewhere to spend the day. RECENTRE brings together wellbeing, therapeutic activity, movement, connection, learning and family support within one welcoming environment.

What a day looks like

  • Move Well: exercise, strength and balance sessions, mobility support and falls prevention.
  • Think Well: cognitive stimulation, memory support, creative activities and learning.
  • Connect Well: friendships, group activity and peer support.
  • Live Well: person-centred choices that reflect each person's history, interests and routines.

Each day is person-led, with a structured individual programme shaped around interests, preferences and support needs. A variety of activity-based events, physical activity sessions, opportunities for relaxation and sessions with visiting therapists sit within a familiar daily rhythm: an arrival period, morning break, lunch and afternoon break. There is flexibility to choose what to join and when to rest.

Therapy rooms

calm, private spaces for therapeutic activity, rehabilitation and one-to-one support.

Brain Health Relaxation Suite

Our relaxation suite offers a calm, supportive wellbeing experience that may help people feel more relaxed, settled and comfortable. It is wellbeing support, not medical treatment, and does not diagnose, prevent or treat dementia. A short suitability assessment is completed before the first session.

Respite for families and carers

Regular, planned respite is not a luxury; it helps carers stay well and helps people stay at home for longer. Whether you need time for appointments, work, rest or family, we will work with you to find a pattern of days that suits.
